Today, with the beginning of October, so starts the count down to Halloween. Having spent large spans of our childhood on the entirely worthwhile endeavor of Zombie movies, we have been inspired to write our very own Zombie Apocalypse Plan. Because lets face it these days what blog is complete without its own Z.A. Plan. The major impetus for this post is really the fact that we were fairly recently (and horribly lately) brought to the attention of another movie in this genre woody harrelson’s Zom-Com, Zombieland.(Which may have been even better than Shaun of the dead in my opinion). As such having belatedly come to this excellent flik we were motivated to start our Z.A. Plan, so here it goes….
Pre-Apocalypse provisions
Emergency Bag
They key to any Z.A. Plan starts even before “the outbreak”, advised , although for different reasons, by both the government and Sarah Connor (Credit for that joke to the guys at The Big Bang theory) is the Emergency kit, retrofitted only slightly for a Z.A. Below:
Firearm/heavy melee weapon X 1
Medical supplies full first aid kit plus large quantity of pain killers and antibiotics.
Light weight Rations for 2 weeks X 1
Swiss army knife X 1
Mobile/Satellite phone X 1
Vehicle meanings in a post-apocalyptic world
Another key decision to make before the flesh eating freaks rise up is, who will I be in the Post-Apocalyptic wasteland? Like moving to a new school or new area you can change who your are nothing is holding you back (except some rather scary flesh-eaters). Key to choosing your role in the “new world” is your vehicle, nothing say more than what your driving, especially after the event.
The Hummer/Land rover – The practical Survivor
The Bus/RV – The comfortable Survivor
The Motorbike – The rogue Zombie Hunter
The Sports Car Mustang/Lamborghini – The stylish survivor
Post Z.A. Steps
Step 1 – secure immediate area and check inventory
Step 2 – Find your best means of transport in the local area and go on a Shopping trip for sustained survival.
Step 3 – Find your final means of transport (see above), set up amongst your survivor compatriots a short wave radio schedule.
Step 4 – Make effort to set up a permanent base that is stable and defensible for survivors to flock to and save the human race.
Step 5 – SURVIVE
Wealth of experience from Zombie Apocalypse fiction (best of the best)
2 Evil Dead
3 Zombieland
4 Shaun of the dead
5 28 days later
6 Walking dead (tv series)
